CVBD The Canine Vector-Borne Diseases website has information about diseases such as heartworm and lyme disease that are transmitted by biting insects and parasites.

Dogs and Ticks: Diseases in Your Neightbourhood
This website provides information about ticks in North America. The map provides information on the incidents of tick-bourne diseases that have been reported via Idexx Laboratories.

Nutritional Requirements of Cats and Dogs.
There are two brief booklets available from the National Research Council of the National Academies (US).

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) website for Pet Owners
AAHA maintains a pet health library and a blog for the use of pet owners.
