Hello, and thank you for your interest in our hospital! Acres Animal Hospital is an independently owned and operated small animal hospital offering integrative veterinary medicine. We welcome the opportunity to introduce ourselves. Here, you may view the history of our business, or read our philosophy. You can also meet the staff, or take a tour of our hospital. And of course, we would love to hear from you!
Acres’ Biography
Acres Animal Hospital was incorporated in 1978 by a group of veterinarians. Dr. Laura Lee (the current owner) bought the practice in February 1994. Before it became a veterinary hospital, the building was used by Sunset Marina to sell boats, then was used to sell pools. The name “Acres” comes from the Sunset Acres subdivision across the street, which was new at the time.
In 1994, after Dr. Lee purchased the practice, there were major renovations done inside the building, and more recently, there have been further renovations done both inside and out. There have also been major equipment purchases, including in-hospital blood analyzing equipment and, most recently, a digital x-ray system.
In 2000, Dr. Lee became certified in veterinary acupuncture (IVAS), and in 2003 she became certified in veterinary chiropractic (AVCA). Dr. Lee is currently studying a variety of herbal modalities, including Tradition Chinese Veterinary Medicine. We are proud to offer integrative veterinary medicine to our patients.
Our Philosophy
At Acres Animal Hospital, we provide integrative veterinary medicine in a friendly, helpful, and safe environment. We sensitively address the needs of both patients and their people while offering humane and ethical veterinary care ranging from conventional medicine (such as vaccinations and surgery) to alternatives (such as chiropractic and acupuncture). Our commitment to lifelong education of veterinarians, staff, clients and patients helps us provide the tools for achieving our goals.
Our patients are primarily cats and dogs, with a few rabbits. Dr. Lee also offers chiropractic and acupuncture treatments for horses. Please visit the services section of our website to learn how integrative veterinary medicine can help your fourlegged family!
