Chiro for the Birds

Dr. Lee recently helped two injured wild birds with chiropractic treatments. A grackle and a great horned owl with neck injuries were brought to Dr. Lee by Dr. Helene van Doninck of the Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. The grackle had flown into a window. The owl was found at the side of the road, and was probably either hit by a car or flew into a power line. Dr. Lee gave them both chiropractic treatments to help them straighten their necks. We hope the birds can make full recoveries and be released into the wild.

If you find a bird that has flown into a window or power line, or has been hit by a car, you can contact the Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or Hope for Wildlife. Both organizations help injured animals heal and return to their homes in the wild.
